SHORT DISCRIPTION  An upbeat pop/rock song, telling girls when receiving undue pressure from a boy to "Just Say Goodbye."

ALBUM NOTES  Girls seem to be under an enormous amount of pressure from the world to be smart, graceful, strong and independent, as well as to look good along with being thoughtful and kind. Some boys might mistake a girl’s kindness for weakness, and thus will attempt to use flattery in the process of trying to manipulate them into doing things they might not otherwise do. This song encourages girls to recognize when this type of manipulation is happening, and to “Just Say Goodbye."

LYRICS

A paralyzing stare and captivating lines
He knew exactly what to say
Like girl you know that you are always on my mind
I’ll never make it through a day (day without you)

But he was ready to just take it all from me
and I just wouldn’t go that far… so,

He said goodbye ya’ll
He said goodbye ya’ll
He left me standin’ like I wasn’t worth a try ya’ll

No need to cry ya’ll
He said goodbye ya’ll
and gave me freedom again!

Fatal attraction to an intoxicating smile
A poison that can bring you down
You’ll never know until he stays with you awhile
If you can make him stick around

But everything points to the fact that he won’t stay
and if you got nerve and don’t just give in that way, then…

He’ll say goodbye ya’ll
He’ll say goodbye ya’ll
He’ll leave ya standin’ like it wasn’t worth a try ya’ll

He’ll say goodbye ya’ll
He’ll try to make ya fall
and when you think you’re good he’ll take away your smile ya’ll

He’ll say goodbye ya’ll
He’ll say goodbye ya’ll
He’ll leave ya standin’ like it wasn’t worth a try ya’ll

No need to cry ya’ll
He’ll say goodbye ya’ll
You’ll have your freedom again!

(You don’t know it) today he want’s it all from you
(Never showing) tomorrow he won’t even know your name

So if you find someone who really makes you smile
and everything is on the line
You really want to try and stay with him awhile
but he’ll be leaving you behind

Before you end up feeling blinded by the pain
Here’s some advice on what to say

Just say goodbye ya’ll
Just say goodbye ya’ll
Just let him know that you’re no longer gonna’ try ya’ll

Just say goodbye ya’ll
and watch him take a fall
then let him know that you were tired of his lies ya’ll

Just say goodbye ya’ll
Go on and fly ya’ll
and maybe then he’ll know exactly what he’s lost ya’ll

Just say goodbye ya’ll
Girl let it go ya’ll
and take your freedom again!

SHORT DISCRIPTION   A timeless sounding light pop/rock airy feel good love song.

ALBUM NOTES  More times than not, people are vigorously looking for that one opportunity to fall head over heels in love. The kind where they don't care what others think. All they want is to blindly move forward and innocently explore that new sensational world of euphoria and to somehow make it all last forever with someone who shares that same dream. Many people already have someone in mind with whom they would like to share this dream. They just haven't told this person yet. This is where the ever so poignant love song comes in. All genres of music contain songs that attempt to communicate to the listener  a shared feeling of romantic love. Even many of the hardest rock songs embrace this sentiment. This song; "You're The One For Me," (originally dubbed "the unicorn song" because of its bubble gum pop dreamy fantasy like feel) is a feel-good airy love song about a young woman breaking away from holding back and letting her friend know how she really feels about him. Reminding him that she's "not the ordinary," doesn't "need extraordinary," and after a lot of thought has conclusively resolved that he's the one for her.

LYRICS

You don’t know – what you do to me
I don’t care – you’re all I see
You don’t have to read my mind…

Looking past – that we’ve been friends
I can’t wait – till the story ends
Time has come to make you see that...

[CHORUS]
I am not the ordinary and…
I don’t need extraordinary and…
I don’t have to live a fairytale to make me see…
You’re the one for me.

Every day – I find myself
Wanting you – and no-one else
Longing just to let you know… (Chorus)

[BRIDGE]
Time has come to make you see…(Chorus out)

Bio of Jennifer Shiver

I'm one of three daughters of a former lead vocalist for the U.S. Navy Band who is now a composer and producer of music and live stage shows. I’ve just kind-of grown up around music and production. Over the years I've been privileged to participate in many of my dads live productions. I have also been given the opportunity to help in different commercial projects by singing (jingles & background) and laying down voice-over tracks. However, until now, I've never worked on anything like this.

This whole project happened as a result of playing around in my dad's studio. He has known for a long time of my desire to try my hand at recording a song, and was able to set aside some time this past summer to help me do it. At first we were just casually experimenting with some of the tracks and it all started sounding pretty good (to us anyway), so we both stepped back and decided to really buckle down and get serious. It soon progressed into what seemed like a monumental amount of work. Don't get me wrong, it's been a wonderful experience for me, but until now, I had no idea of the amount of work involved in making an entire recording from start to finish. It's given me a whole new level of respect for all recording artists (across the board), especially for those who have more than one album out. wow!

So, as it stands, I make absolutely no presumptions about any of my work here. Of course, I hope that there will be many out there who can relate to the lyrics, and as a result enjoy the songs. Like them or not though, I still want to say thanks for logging on and taking the time to listen and check things out. For those who are liking it thus far, stand by, there's more from this project coming soon – and I’m extremely excited to share it with you!
